Brewing what comes naturally
Lined up like a bunch of organ pipes at the bar, you’ll find the complete Mac's range of beers.
Mac's has a long history of creating award-winning naturally brewed beers. Last year it won gold, silver and bronze at the BrewNZ Awards for Sassy Red, Hop Rocker and Great White respectively, more feathers in a cap that’s already so feathery they could stuff a mattress with it.

Here's a quick run down of what's pouring on any given day of the week:
- Mac's Gold — the perennial favourite and the beer that made Mac's famous. A crisp, lightly hopped 4% golden lager.
- Mac's Black — newly reformulated, this chocolaty dark beer is rich in toasted malts and Hallertau hops.
- Hop Rocker — a superb golden pilsner heavily hopped with sauvin and cascade varieties giving it citrus aromas and a proper bitter finish.
- Great White — a complex, cloudy Belgian witbier with banana, bubblegum and Turkish delight flavours, among others.
- Sassy Red — a real favourite and Mac’s most awarded beer. A very hoppy English-style bitter ale with loads of Saaz B and five different malts. All the flavour you can handle.
- Spring Tide — ever mindful of the needs of all our drinkers, Spring Tide is a lower carb lager at full strength, but without that anaemic taste.
- Sun Dance — a summer favourite. A summer ale with floral hop aromas and a bit of lemongrass in the boil for a sense of Pacific fusion.
- Ginger Beer — Mac's makes great beer, and that includes the Ginger, non-alcoholic, variety, with its perfect, refreshing balance of sweetness and spiciness.
- Green Apple — another non-alcoholic option, is made from genuine Hawkes Bay Granny Smiths. Nothing gets a pucker on like our sour apple fruit drink.
